Stage 13: El Coyote - Ligui - 155km

A challenging long stage with many ups and downs. But also predestinated for splitting it up into two parts and camp at the end of the Bahia de Concepción.

  • Along the Bay section you will face many smaller climbs with great views on the water
  • Right after leaving the Bahia de Concepción: a longer ascent to reach the valley.
  • From there it is all flat until km marker 30. From there there will be smaller hills all the way down to Loreto. Don't expect to make good miles on this part of the stage!
  • km marker 37 and 29: ranchos/loncherias to fill up water
  • Loreto: super markets, hotels, bike shops (plural!). All you need! Turn left at the highway to get into town. Explore the streets and see the nice misión in the center.
  • Stock up in Loreto. After Loreto and before the big mountains, there will only be one mini super to come!
  • The road after Loreto becomes immediately worse when you leave the town (as of 2013) with broken pavement all over the place.
  • two climbs after Loreto. One after passing Nopoló and the second at Juncalito. After these ascents it's all pretty flat until Lugui.
  • 37 km after passing Loreto: Playa el Ligui. Mini super and a quite undiscovered beach. To reach this you will have to leave the highway and ride through sandy roads for about 1 km.
